K-pop girl group BLACKPINK member Lisa debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her song “Lalisa.”
According to Billboard Charts on Twitter, Lisa’s “Lalisa” entered at No. 84 for the first time on the Hot 100 for the Sept. 25-dated chart.
“It earns #LISA her first solo entry on the chart. LISA is the second member of @BLACKPINK to earn a solo entry on the #Hot100, after ROSÉ, whose 'On The Ground' reached No. 70 in March. As a group, @BLACKPINK has charted seven songs on the Hot 100,” according to Billboard Charts.
In addition, “Lalisa” debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts dated Sept. 25. Global 200 is based on streaming and sales from more than 200 countries and regions and compiled by MRC Data. The Global Excl. US chart excludes US figures.
“Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts' calculations,” according to Billboard.
Lisa made her solo debut with the release of her single album “Lalisa” last Sept. 10. The album sold 736,221 copies in the first week of release from Sept. 10 to 16.
With this, according to Hanteo Chart, Lisa set records of achieving first place with the highest first-week sales among all female artists of all time and becoming the first female solo artist to achieve 500,000 copies in first-week sales.
It topped Hanteo Chart’s weekly physical album chart from Sept. 6 to 12 with 338,612 copies sold in two and a half days.
YouTube confirmed to Manila Bulletin on Sept. 13 that the “Lalisa” music video garnered 73.6 million views in the first 24 hours of release.
This put “Lalisa” in sixth place among YouTube’s Top 10 All-Time Top 24-Hour Music Debuts list. Based on the current list, Lisa is the only K-pop solo artist to have a music video in the top 10.
Meanwhile, Lisa will release a performance video of her song “Money” on Sept. 23.
