LTO-7 opens extension office in Dalaguete

CEBU CITY — The Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas (LTO 7) has opened another extension office in Cebu province.

The sixth LTO 7 extension office is located in Barangay Consolacion, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

“This is another milestone by LTO 7 headed by (Victor) Caindec. In spite of the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the LTO 7 continued to work and did not make the current situation as an excuse not to accomplish anything,” Cebu governor Gwendolyn Garcia said during the blessing and inauguration of the extension office last Thursday.

Caindec, regional director of LTO 7, said the Dalaguete extension office is a full service office offering transactions related to licenses and registration.

“We also have new license issuance here,” said Caindec.

Other LTO 7 extension offices are in Carcar City, in the towns of Bantayan, Balamban, Ronda and in Camotes island.

Another extension office is set to open in Tubigon, Bohol.

As a private proponent project, the government did not spend for the construction of the extension office, Caindec said.

“Provincial Board Member Tata Salvador shouldered the lot acquisition, construction of the office, the infrastructure including the IT system. The government did not spend a single peso for this,” said Caindec.

Caindec added that similar to other offices of LTO, the proponent usually aims to develop a place “hoping to get foot traffic.”

“Consequently alongside that foot traffic, there are benefits in the area especially in the commercial spaces,” Caindec said.
