Vice President Leni Robredo has proudly said that she doesn't have "blind supporters" and that her followers share with her the goal of promoting what is best for the country.

Robredo made the statement as the number of groups urging her to run for president in the May 2022 elections increased.

In an interview in San Fernando, Pampanga, the Vice President said she does not take the support of her followers lightly as they are not blind followers.

"Hindi ko siya tine-take lightly, eh. Iyong sa akin, iyong pakikipaglaban ko, para sa kanila, actually (I don't take their support lightly. I am fighting this fight for them)," she said.

"Very confident kasi ako na iyong klase nga ng supporters ko, hindi ito iyong klase ng supporters na kapag may mali akong gawin, magiging blind followers pa rin (I am very confident because my supporters are not the kind who are blind to my wrongdoings)," she added.

According to the opposition leader, she and her followers share the same love for country, and that's why she has been thinking very hard about her political plans in 2022.

"Iyong klase naman ng supporters natin parating pagmamahal sa bansa iyong laging nangingibabaw (The kind of supporters we have are those who always put forward their love for the country)," she said.

"Mayroon pang three weeks na iyong pagdadasal natin na sana i-guide tayo sa kung ano iyong pinaka-makakabuti sa atin lahat (There's still three weeks so I will pray for guidance about what will be the best for all of us)," she added.

The filing of the certificates of candidacy for those who want to run in the 2022 elections will start in October.

Robredo has yet to make up her mind about the presidency but her camp said running for president is still her first option.

The Vice President has been trying to unify anti-administration personalities to stand a better chance in winning next year's polls.
