Execs of modestly-financed Pharmally now drive flashy European sports cars
The Senate Blue Ribbon committee on Friday September 17 revealed yesterday that Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation officials drive expensive European sports cars.
` The Senate committee is now on its seventh day of investigating the alleged ‘’premeditated plunder’’ at Procurement Service, Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) which awarded P42 billon COVID 19-related medical supply contracts mostly to foreign firms, including Pharmally.
Senator Richard J. Gordon, committee chairman, said these high-priced cars were registered at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Gordon said Twinkle Dargani, Pharmally president, has a Lamborghini URUS worth some P13 million.
Mohit Dargani, Pharmally corporate secretary-treasurer, has a Porsche 911 valued at P8.5 million.
Linconn Ong, Pharmally director, has three cars.
These are Porsche Carrera 4S worth P13.5 million; Porsche Cayenne worth from P6.3 million to P8.85 million; and Porsche 911 Turbo S, worth P6.35 million to P8.85 million.
During a recent committee hearing, Gordon asked resigned PS-DBM chief Lloyd Christopher Lao whether he drives a Maserati. Lao replied: ‘’Grandia.’’
The Senate committee’s focus is on Lao who oversaw the awarding through negotiated bidding of P42 billion worth of COVID 19-related medical supplies.
Senators want to know who ordered the DOH to transfer its P42 billion in COVID-19 response funds to PS-DBM although it has many experts in the bidding process.
Michael Yang, former economic adviser to President Duterte, is the reported financier of cash-strapped Pharamally.
