Partido Reporma meets with PDP-Laban’s Pacquiao faction

Top officials of the revived Partido Reporma have confirmed meeting with the Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban’s (PDP-Laban) faction led by Senator Manny Pacquiao to discuss “possible alliances” in the upcoming May 2022 national elections.

The party’s president, Davao del Norte 1st District Pantaleon Alvarez, in his Facebook post, shared a photo of him meeting with Pacquiao with his ally Ronwald Munsayac.

The meeting took place at the senator’s home on Wednesday afternoon.

Also present during the meeting is Partido Reporma Secretary General and Davao Del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib.

Alvarez captioned the photo and said: “Discussing 2022 and possible alliances with old friends from PDP-Laban. We are all praying to have leaders that Filipinos need to help solve our problems amid the pandemic.”

Prior to this meeting, Alvarez recently expressed his support to Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III’s tandem in next year’s polls, after Lacson joined the Partido Reporma for his 2022 presidential bid.

Both Lacson and Sotto have officially launched their presidential and vice presidential bid for next year’s elections.

Pacquiao, who had a falling out with Duterte, has yet to announce his political plans for next year, saying he is still contemplating whether to run for president, seek reelection or retire from politics.

This was after the PDP-Laban’s wing led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi decided to support a tandem led by Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go and the President.
