No more bad hair days for the gents
While salons and barbershops are now allowed to operate under the new community quarantine in Metro Manila, going out for a simple haircut could still be alarming for many as the number of people acquiring COVID-19 continues to rise. Not only does this bring a great threat to regular Filipinos, it is also a challenge to entrepreneurs in the beauty and grooming industry who are trying to keep their businesses afloat.
To bring a solution to the problem, local barbershop The Men’s Room PH explored doing home service last August 2021, and it is now proving to be the best move for its patrons and business. It is also likely that this service will be available for a long time, at least until we get good control of the pandemic in the country.
“Our home service is still ongoing,” the brand tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “We offer haircuts and hair treatments (anti-dandruff and anti-hair loss). We are still in the process of adding more services such as manicures, pedicures, and shaves.”
Apart from bringing its signature services to its customer's place, observing proper hygiene and safety protocols are also on the top of its priority. Expect to see its fully vaccinated barber come to your place wearing complete personal protective equipment, from face mask and face shield to gloves. The shop also provides disposable barber capes to its customers and sanitizes its tools every after client session to ensure a clean service.
“So far, the feedback has been positive from our clients,” it says. “They get a seasoned, professional barber right at their doorstep. Considering they don't have to pay for gas, go through traffic, and pay parking fees, we think that's a pretty good deal.”
“It is all very new and we are still learning and trying to make our home service better and safer for both our staff and, of course, our clients,” it adds.
The Men’s Room PH’s home service costs P600 only. Currently, it has two shops located at Glorietta 3 in Makati City and inside SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
