LPA, ITCZ may bring rain showers, thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region

Rain showers and thunderstorms may affect parts of Visayas and Mindanao in the next several hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The state weather bureau said the LPA embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) was last spotted at 135 kilometers (km) East Northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
The two weather system are currently affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, state meteorologists said.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may be experienced over Visayas, Mindanao, and the Bicol Region due to the combined effects of the LPA and the ITCZ.
The agency warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.
Weather specialist Benison Estareja said the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
