Aiming to vaccinate hundreds of individuals against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the “Bakuna Buses” of Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Thursday, Sept. 16, went to selected areas in Calabarzon and Western Visayas.
“Tuloy-tuloy ang pagbiyahe ng ating mga Bakuna Buses upang ilapit ang bakuna sa ating mga mamamayan (Our “Bakuna Buses” continue to travel to bring the vaccine closer to our people),” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon said.
“Hinihikayat nating ang ating mga kababayan na magpabakuna na sa ating mga Bakuna Buses. Libre po yan (We encourage our countrymen to get vaccinated in our vaccine buses. It's free),” he added.
PRC’s fleet of mobile vaccine clinics, otherwise known as “Bakuna Buses,” have been going to various parts of the country in line with the efforts to support the national vaccination program of the government.
In Calabarzon, the PRC “Bakuna Buses” will be vaccinating 400 people in Taytay Rizal, 500 in Pila Laguna, and another 400 in Brgy. Gulang Gulang in Lucena City.
In Western Visayas, the “Bakuna Buses” will drive to Roxas City to vaccinate 400 people and another 400 in La Carlota City in Negros Occidental.
Bus companies such as Victory Liner, Ube Express, and Ceres Liner has loaned their buses to PRC to help in the vaccination program.
Currently, there are 16 “Bakuna Buses” included in PRC’s fleet of mobile vaccine clinics.
“For the past couple of months, these buses have been driving around the country to provide free vaccines, vaccinating more than 1,000 people daily,” PRC added.
