At least 16 PCG officers complete training course for maritime instructors


At least 16 officers and personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Education, Training, and Doctrine Command have completed series of training for the International Maritime Organization (IMO) model course.

The 16 PCG officers underwent the training course led by Executive Director Joel Maglunsod via virtual conference from Sept. 1 to 11.

The Coast Guard said the IMO model course 6.09 have provided the participants “who had little to no experience” as instructors with the knowledge and skills to design and conduct training programs using latest materials and techniques.

Commodore Roben De Guzman, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command deputy commander, said the training significantly improved the capabilities of the personnel.

The deputy commander added that the personnel were equipped with knowledge and skills that made them highly qualified in performing their duties and responsibilities in the nation.
