The 1961 song, composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics written by Johnny Mercer, was made famous by actress Audrey Hepburn as she sang it in the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” It went on to win accolades in 1962, taking home the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
For the latest rendition, Beyoncé donned a look similar to what Audrey’s Holly Golightly character was wearing in the iconic film. Completing her image is the label’s famous Tiffany Diamond, which was also present in their early campaigns for the brand.
In the film directed by Emmanuel Adjei, the “Crazy In Love” singer plays the piano as she sings the classic hit while adoringly looking at her husband Jay-Z. The video also presents footage taken by Jay-Z, which also captures their eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter behind-the-scenes.
In August 2021, the Carters posed alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat’s 1982 artwork, “Equals Pi,” for their debut Tiffany & Co. campaign. Part of the couple’s collaboration with the brand is the creation of Tiffany & Co. About Love Scholarship Program where a $2 million donation will be given to Black colleges and universities across the US for arts and creative studies.
