Cops bust drug surenderee in Iloilo City


ILOILO CITY — Old habits never die as cops in this city are able to arrest a drug personality who has previously surrendered.

Richie Sube Buenavista was arrested late night Monday, September 13, in a buy-bust operation in San Pedro village, Molo district.

Buenavista sold one sachet of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover cop for P18,000.

Also recovered from Buenvaista were three other plastic sachets of shabu and other paraphernalia. In all, Buenavista had approximately 18 grams of shabu with net price of P122,400.

Buenavista was collared by combined forces of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO-Molo Police Station), the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU-6), Regional Highway Patrol Unit (RHPU-6) , and the Anti-Illegal Drug Team Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (AIDTCODG-6).

Based on police records, Buenavista is in the drug watch list as street-level personality. But he initially sought the government’s drug rehabilitation program and was supposed to have finished rehabilitation last December 2020.

Meanwhile, Buenvaista will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
