The San Juan City local government distributed financial assistance to barangay workers in the city as it paid tribute to their service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said that around 1,000 barangay workers from 21 barangays in the city each received P3,000 cash assistance from the local government unit (LGU).
"Kayo po ang aming mga katuwang sa paglilingkod sa ating mamamayan para sa katahimikan at kaayusan sa ating mga barangay. At kayo rin po ang aming kasama sa tuwina sa ating patuloy na paglaban sa pandemyang ito (You are our partners in serving the community and maintaining peace and order in our barangays. You are also our partners in our fight against the pandemic). You deserve this and we recognize all your efforts," Zamora said.
Zamora said that that the LGU previously gave financial assistance to the city's medical frontliners and city hall employees. Medical frontliners working in San Juan were given P5,000 cash while city hall employees received P3,000.
