2 anti-narcotics cops killed in Cabanatuan City

Two anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) were killed in a daring assassination perpetrated by motorcycle-riding men in Cabanatuan City on Friday night, Sept. 10.

Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has ordered a thorough investigation on the killing and assured the relatives of the two slain cops of justice.

He identified the fatalities as 43-year old Police Staff Sgt. Allan Capinpin and 39-year old Police Staff Sgt. Aries Dichoso. Both were assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cabanatuan City Police.

The two cops were reportedly engaged in a conversation inside the house of Capinpin in Barangay Magsaysay at around 10 p.m. on Friday when the gunmen arrived and repeatedly shot them. They died on the spot.

Eleazar said the investigation will cover the motive which could lead to the identification of all the people responsible for the killing of the two policemen.
