The City of Manila’s Anti-Drug Council (MADAC) was commended by the Department of Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (NCR) for its accomplishments and contributions to the country’s anti-illegal drugs drive.
Based on the 2021 Anti-Drug Council (ADAC) Performance Audit, MADAC was “highly functional” in 2020, scoring 85 out of 100 for its anti-drug efforts.
The performance audit assesses the “functionality and effectiveness” of local ADACs.
In its letter to Domagoso, DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin lauded MADAC for “introducing new ideas or innovation which added value in the implementation of the anti-illegal drugs programs.”
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said he is thankful for the recognition given by the agency.
“Ginawa po natin ang abot ng ating makakaya para ipatupad ang batas kontra droga (we are doing our best to implement the anti-drug law),” Domagoso.
"Patuloy po nating susundin ang due process sa ating pagpapatupad sa ating mga programang kontra droga (We will continue to follow due process in our implementation of programs against illegal drugs)," the mayor added.
Domagoso also vowed to catch violators of anti-drug laws and punish them in accordance with the law.
"We respect the rights of people, but we will also not tolerate any wrongdoing in Manila," the mayor said.
