CEBU CITY — After it transitioned to a less stricter General Community Quarantine starting Wednesday, September 8, the city is giving more leeway to vaccinated persons.
Under Executive Order 142 that Acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama issued on Tuesday, only inoculated individuals will be allowed to attend weddings, birthdays, and baptism in a venue at 30 percent capacity.
Permits to hold these gatherings can be secured from the Office of the Mayor through the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Rama’s EO also allowed the opening of more establishments exclusive for inoculated persons.
Aside from barber shops, beauty salons, and nail spa, massage parlors can already accept vaccinated persons.
Indoor sports courts and venues, fitness studios, gyms, clubhouses are now also allowed at 30 percent capacity for non-contact activities but only for vaccinated individuals.
"There is a consensus among the various scientific experts especially in the field of epidemiology that vaccination is still the best defense against severe cases of COVID-19 and that full vaccination of a sizeable segment of our population is the most viable gateway towards normality," Rama said.
Business establishments were also encouraged to come up with their own discounts, freebies, and other promotional incentives as a way of helping the government's vaccination campaign.
