Classes in all private elementary and secondary schools were suspended Wednesday (Sept.8) due to inclement weather brought by Tropical Storm Jolina.
“The field is being advised to take necessary precautions to avoid adverse effect of the typhoon,” Division of city Schools Director Magdalena Lim said in a statement.
Manila’s public universities — Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila — have yet to announce the suspension of classes.
PLM President Noel Leyco said they will “issue periodic updates throughout the day” as they “monitor the weather, internet connectivity, and power stability.”
UDM, meanwhile, said those who are unable to attend synchronous classes “will be excused.”
“We practice flexibility and will definitely observe it today,” UDM President Felma Carlos-Tria said.
