Dance instructor yields P1.025-M worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD CITY – About 151 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,025,000 were seized by policemen from a dance instructor at Purok Gonzaga, Barangay Taculing here on Tuesday night.

Arrested was Arjon Ramos, 27, of the said village, who was said to be a “bodegero” or keeper of the illegal drugs.

Police Capt. John Christopher Masangkay, head of Police Station 5, said the previous buy-bust operation at the said village last month led them to conduct this operation against Ramos.

Police also confiscated from Ramos the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Masangkay said the contraband was reportedly sourced out from a contact in New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

The items, sealed in a different packaging, were then sent here through a courier, he added.

He however refused to elaborate further on the said report while they continue to probe it.

Masangkay said the illegal drugs were allegedly being distributed in various areas here as Ramos admitted to the police his engagement in the illegal drug trade.

He said they are preparing the filing of drug charges against Ramos, who is detained at the police station.
