San Rafael town Mayor Cipriano D. Violago Jr. has tested positive for COVID-19.

Violago, in a Facebook post, said he is in good condition now and is being monitored by the Municipal Health Office (MHO).
He appealed for prayer, not only for his early recovery, but for everyone fighting COVID-19.
He assured his constituents that they have nothing to worry about because the operations of the municipal government will continue.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando had earlier announced the extension of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in the province until September 30, 2021.
Based on a report by the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Fernando Bulacan recorded 844 new cases on September 6, bringing the provincial tally to 62,294. He said 57,532 have recovered while 3,595 are active cases.
He said 17 new deaths were recorded that brought the total of COVID-19 fatalities to 1,167. Of the 3,595 active cases, 775 are admitted in hospitals, 138 are admitted in a TemporaryTreatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), while 2,682 are under home isolation.
