Ospital ng Imus grapples with handling thrice its capacity of COVID-19 patients
IMUS CITY, Cavite - Ospital ng Imus continues to grapple with handling three times its capacity of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients, a representative told the Manila Bulletin on Monday (September 6).
On September 3, the hospital announced that it will temporarily stop accepting COVID-19 patients as it has gone beyond its full capacity.
The hospital also said that 30 of its employees are in quarantine after showing symptoms of infection or testing positive for the virus.
Despite not admitting new COVID-19 patients in its emergency room and ward, the hospital said that its healthcare workers will still do their best to examine patients outside the hospital building.
"Amin pong pagsusumikapang masuri ang mga nakapilang pasyente sa labas ng ospital at loob ng kani-kanilang sasakyan (We will try out best to examine patients outside the hospital or inside their vehicles)," the hospital's announcement said. "Kami po ay humihingi ng malawak na pang-unawa at konsiderasyon sa publiko (We are appealing for the public's understanding and consideration)."
