Eleazar orders inventory of medicine, other supplies amid upsurge of PNP COVID cases

Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has ordered an inventory of the medicines and other supplies for its personnel as the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to rise.

The PNP has so far recorded more than 35,000 cases of coronavirus infection, 106 of them died although almost all of those infected were able to recover.

So far, the PNP has more than 2,000 active cases, including 243 new cases reported on Friday.

Eleazar sad he had already tasked the PNP-Administrative Support for COVID-19 Task Force to conduct the inventory in order to ensure that the PNP will not run low of supplies amid the surge of COVID cases even in the PNP.

Eleazar also reminded police unit heads and commanders to strictly implement the minimum public health safety in their respective offices and stations to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus.

He said PNP personnel should be more careful even though most of the personnel have already been vaccinated against COVID-19.
