Park Seo-joon leaves Korea to film ‘The Marvels’

Korean actor Park Seo-joon confirmed his appearance in a Marvel Studios movie and left South Korea on Sept. 3 for the filming.

Awesome Entertainment, his agency, announced on Sept. 3 that “Park Seo Joon confirmed his appearance in the Marvel Studios movie and left the country this afternoon.”

Last June, Korean media outlet Star news reported that Park Seo-joon was cast in “The Marvels.”

“The Marvels” is a sequel to “Captain Marvel” and will star Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) and Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan) with Nia DaCosta as director. It will be released in theaters on Nov. 11, 2022. His role in the film has not been revealed.

“We would like to thank the many people who have shown interest and support for Park Seo-joon's new challenge. We are aware that many people are curious about the name of the work, the character, the filming location and the filming period. More information about the movie will be announced at a later date,” Awesome Entertainment added.

Another report by Star News on Sept. 2 stated that Park Seo-joon’s destination will be England. Before leaving, he filmed “Concrete Utopia,” which will also star Lee Byung-hyun and Park Bo-young.

The report added that the 32-year-old star of “Itaewon Class” plans to return to South Korea after filming “The Marvels” by the end of the year. After returning to Korea, he will start working on the drama “Gyeongseong Creature.”
