TANZA, Cavite - Mayor Yuri Pacumio announced on Wednesday (September 1) that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Pacumio is currently asymptomatic and is in isolation.
According to Pacumio, his family and close contacts have already been tested for the virus and the tests came out negative.
The mayor said his condition will not hamper the operations of the local government unit amid the surging pandemic.
As of September 1, the municipality has recorded 1,276 active COVID-19 cases.
