Villar says photo of 'misaligned' CCLEX bridge altered

CEBU CITY – The main bridge of the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is almost complete, Department of Public Works and Highway Mark Villar reported.

Villar likewise debunked photos that were altered and posted on social media platform showing that main deck of the bridge is misaligned.

“There is no truth to the realignment. Soon, the 8.5 km inter island bridge will connect mainland Cebu from Cebu City to Cordova town in Mactan Island,” Villar said.

The gap at the main bridge is only at 14 meters as of August 31.

“A few more weeks to go before we complete the installation of the final stay cable and close the main bridge deck gap,” a post on CCLEX Facebook page read.

The CCLEX likewise announced due to the construction works, the Cebu South Coastal Road viaduct will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting September 1 until September 31.
