"The University of Santo Tomas Entrance Test (USTET) will not be administered in consideration of the quarantine restrictions that are currently in effect in the country," UST said.

Instead, admissions for the incoming school year will be based on the UST Admission Rating (USTAR).

USTAR is a score that will be computed from a number of parameters derived largely from the academic performance and record of the applicant.

However, UST also advised that passing the USTAR will not be the lone basis for admission in some colleges.

"Some Colleges may require additional entry assessment in the form of an interview, talent test (e.g. audition, drawing), or other similar activities."

Its college application period will start on Sept. 1 and end on Dec. 15, 2021.

Meanwhile, the Ateneo de Manila University likewise announced that it has waived its Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) for SY 2022-2023.
