QC residents may get unclaimed 'ayuda' until Aug. 31

The Quezon City government has set the deadline for unclaimed "ayuda" or cash aid from the national government until Tuesday, August 31.

A total of 89,154 families have yet to claim their cash aid.

The city government has completed its distribution on August 28 and distributed P1,000 to P4,000 to a total of 747, 520 families.

"Sa tulong ng mga city departments, barangays, at law enforcers, na-distribute natin agad ang ayuda para sa mga indigent nating mamamayan (Through the help of our city departments, villages, and law enforcers, we were able to distribute the cash aid to our indigent residents)," Mayor Joy Belmonte said on Monday, August 30.

The national government downloaded P2.48 billion to Quezon City intended for some 850,000 families.

Meanwhile, residents who have filed grievances or complaints will be subject for payout after the distribution of the unclaimed cash aid.

Based on the report of the Social Services Development Department (SSDD), 2,782 appeals or complaints were received by the grievance committees at the city’s designated payout sites.

Barangay officials are still consolidating the grievances they received for endorsement to the city.

The city government has accomplished the distribution five days earlier than the deadline set by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
