MB Daily News Update

It was National Heroes Day on Monday, August 30, 2021, and yet it was the so-called new heroes in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) who took to the streets to protest and vent their ire against the government for unpaid benefits promised them.

On yet another sour note, the daily tally of new COVID-19 cases yet another high of 22,366.

And the country’s COVID-19 situation remained precarious as intensive care unit (ICU) and regular hospital bed occupancy remained at high risk throughout the country and in Metro Manila, respectively.

There were also messages delving on nationalism and heroism that are among our top stories this afternoon.
