Three out of four intended beneficiaries have already received the national government’s “ayuda” or financial assistance in Muntinlupa.
Latest figures showed that as of Aug. 28, the Muntinlupa City government has already distributed P327,302,000 or 74 percent of the total allotment of P442,191,000. This translates to 327,302 individuals who have been given the “ayuda.”
Based on the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 3 issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of National Defense (DND), a P1,000 financial assistance will be given per individual up to P4,000 per family.
The Muntinlupa City government started distributing the financial assistance last Aug. 11 through the mobile wallet app GCash.
It also started using manual distribution of the payout on Aug. 26 for beneficiaries who do not have GCash accounts or whose GCash accounts are not fully verified as required.
The Muntinlupa City government published the names of the beneficiaries under the manual distribution and those who have received the “ayuda.”
The national government announced the financial assistance when the National Capital Region (NCR) was placed under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from Aug. 6 to 20.
According to DILG Sec. Eduardo Año, the distribution of the financial assistance in the NCR is extended until Aug. 31.
“Upon the request of the LGUs and with the concurrence of Secretary [Rolando] Bautista and Secretary [Delfin] Lorenzana, we have decided to give the LGUs in the National Capital Region (NCR) until the end of the month to complete the distribution of ayuda,” he said.
All the 16 cities and one municipality in the National Capital Region (NCR) received a total budget of P11.25 billion from the national government for the financial assistance.
