Two killed as truck filled with cases of beer rams into office in Albay


Two people were killed when a delivery truck reportedly lost its brakes Saturday morning along the main road of San Francisco, Malilipot town in the province of Albay.

Initial investigation revealed that the truck, which was to deliver cases of beer in Tabaco City, rammed into a gravel and sand office that instantly killed a bystander and another unidentified man who was aboard his motorcycle near the same office.

Two others were also said to be injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital.

While many of the residents extended help, a few were seen drinking a few bottles of beer right in the area where the accident occurred.

“Maiintindihan ko pa kung pagkain yan dahil madami siguro gutom. Pero alak yan nakalimutan ng maging tao dahil sa alak,” said a seemingly exasperated Nathan Dio in a comment.

The incident happened 7:05 a.m. Saturday.

The driver of the truck, identified as Armando Azupardo is now in the custody of Malilipot police.

Police are still conducting thorough investigation as of this writing as residents assist authorities in clearing the main road of debris.
