1,000 houses in Paranaque City placed under calibrated granular lockdown

A total of 1,000 houses were placed under a calibrated granular lockdown by the Paranaque City government starting Wednesday, August 25, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.

According to Mar Jimenez, Public Information Office chief, the president of the Annex 35 Homeowners Association Barangay Don Bosco, identified as Romualdo Barroga, coordinated with the city government and reported that around 1,000 houses in their community have individuals who contracted COVID-19.

Jimenez said Mayor Edwin Olivarez immediately placed Annex 35 Barangay Don Bosco under a 14-day granular and calibrated lockdown to prevent the further spread of the disease.

He also said that on the first four days of the 14-day lockdown, the City Health Office (CHO) should conduct contact tracing and mass swabbing among the residents.

The PIO chief said those who will turn out negative in the swab test will immediately be vaccinated.

However, for those who will yield positive test results, they will immediately be transferred to the city’s isolation facility for treatment.

He said the city government will also distribute food packs on August 26 to the affected families.
