'Modern Family's' Eric Stonestreet now engaged to longtime GF


Eric Stonestreet, the American comedian best known for portraying lovable gay guy Cameron Tucker in ABC's hit sitcom "Modern Family, " announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer via social media in a fun way.

He captioned a photo of him and his girlfriend of nearly five years with: "She said, 'She'd have her people call my people.' " 

In a report, People said Stonestreet and Schweitzer began dating shortly after meeting at a charity event in 2016.

Several celebrities expressed happiness over the announcement.

Gwyneth Paltrow commented on Instagram, "YAY!!! We are so happy for you."

Zachary Levi wrote, "Congrats duuuuuuuude!!!"

Singer Michael Bublé sent "congrats" and more than a dozen heart emojis.

Stonestreet first gained notice via "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

He won two Emmy Awards for Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in "Modern Family."
