The report said male rider Leo Gerbolingo did not notice the road potholes as they were passing by a dark area in Quirino Highway. He sustained minor body injuries during the incident.

Meanwhile, his 25-year-old female passenger sustained head and spine injuries. The motorcycle was also hit the passenger’s right leg during the accident, the report noted.

“Hindi namin alam sobrang lalim ng lubak dalawa pa kaya pagano ng gulong namin roon sa may lubak may isa pang lubak doon na kami sumemplang, dito na kami humagis (We did not know there is a pothole in the road, and there are two more. We stumbled on the second and was thrown off the motorcycle),” Geborlingo said in a report over GMA’s 24 Oras on Sunday.

“Dapat hindi pinapabayaan yong ganyan kasi talagang delikado lalo na sa mga motorista (The deep pit in the road should not be neglected because it is really dangerous especially for motorists),” he expressed.

The two injured waited almost one hour for the ambulance. They were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center.

Tagapagligas Rider PH president Joey Balauitan reminded motorcycle riders to be more cautious especially in the dark areas of the highway.

“Sa lahat po nang nagmomotor lalo na po dito sa Quirino Highway medyo ingat na lang din po dahil madilim tapos mayroon pong mga potholes dahil sa tagulan (For everyone who drives motorcycle, especially here in Quirino Highway, be more cautious because it's dark and then there are potholes due to the rainy weather),” Balauitan said.
