BACOLOD CITY – A meat vendor lost his five fingers after his left hand accidentally got caught in a meat grinder in a satellite market at Barangay 34 here on Thursday.

Police Maj. Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, said the 22-year old vendor was pushing the meat into the grinder, when the machine reached his hand.

Fortunately, his companion was quick to unplug the machine.

However, the grinder cut the five fingers on his left hand.

Sarona said the man was conscious when rescuers responded to the scene. He was then brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.

Sarona said the man just started working at the meat shop for about a month now.
