LOOK: Grammy-winning singer Lizzo wears Filipino-made ensemble

If you are following Grammy-winning singer Lizzo on Instagram, then you may have been blessed with a major musical moment with her playing the flute in tune of her recent release "Rumors," a song in collaboration with fellow music artist Cardi B.

Lizzo wearing pieces by Thian Rodriguez and MX Studios

In her self-direct Instagram video, Lizzo is jamming with Sasha Flute wearing a sickening black ensemble composed of hardware imbued vinyl leather bustier with a matching choker and boots and hot pants with a fringed hemline. Believe it or not, the look is made by Filipino creatives.

Through a social media post, designer Thian Rodriguez addressed the "rumors," saying that he is the creative behind the "Like A Girl" songstress' latest look.

"Yasss all the rumors are true," he posted. "International American singer, Lizzo wearing a custom Thian Rodriguez Manila signature vinyl leather ensemble. Boots executed by MX Studio."

"Her stylist, Jason Rembert, direct messaged me on Instagram asking if I can create a custom piece for Lizzo," the designer tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. "Of course, without second thoughts, I said yes right away. After sending a couple of sketches and sample photos, we decided to do an all-black ensemble with silver metal details."

According to him, the whole piece should arrive in LA before Aug. 15, 2021. But he was able to start the production 12 days before the said deadline, and ended up finishing the look in eight days.

"Lizzo is a singer and performer, the piece should be wearable and comfortable whenever she moves or dances," Thian says. "Plus! It should embody her fearless and striking personality."

Thian is known for his namesake fashion label that specializes in bespoke leatherwear. His designs have been worn by social media personalities and celebrities such as Ivana Alawi, Nadine Lustre, KZ Tandingan, and Sarah Geronimo. Prior to this, his creations were paired with MX Studio shoes worn by Filipina beauty queens Pia Wurtzbach, Megan Young, Kylie Verzosa, and Angelia Ong for a fashion editorial for Harper's Bazaar Vietnam.

We don't know about you. But Lizzo is definitely looking "good as hell" with their creations.
