Tabloid employee shot dead in QC salon

A former editor of tabloid newspaper Remate was shot dead, while another was wounded, right inside a parlor in Quezon City Tuesday afternoon.

Initial report from Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the slain victim as Gwenn Salamida, a former editor and operations manager of Remate.

She was also affiliated with another tabloid newspaper, Saksi Ngayon.

The other victim was identified as Oliver Perona, who sustained injuries and remains in critical condition at the hospital.

The incident happened at GOTT Salon on Kaingin Road in Barangay Apolonio Samson around 3:35 p.m. when a lone perpetrator entered the salon owned by Salamida and fired shots at them while they were cleaning.

Witnesses were not able to get the plate number of the motorcycle that the perpetrator used in fleeing the crime scene.
