The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) added P582,000 to Muntinlupa’s original budget of P441.609 million and also increased the allotment to 10 other local government units (LGUs) in NCR.

The P186.174 million released by Muntinlupa benefitted 186,174 individuals. Under the guidelines, the financial aid will be given in the amount of P1,000 per individual up to a maximum of P4,000 per family.

Muntinlupa started the “ayuda” payout last Aug. 11 using the mobile wallet app GCash. The city government partnered with GCash for a contactless mode of financial assistance distribution to ensure the residents’ safety amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Muntinlupa cash aid beneficiaries need to create their verified GCash accounts via in-app sign-in feature and register their details thru tinyurl.com/Ayuda-ECQ-Munti.

Meanwhile, dependents of heads of households who died but are still part of the list and previous beneficiaries who are not part of the current list may register online via tinyurl.com/Appeals-Ayuda-ECQ-Munti for validation.

The 16 cities and one municipality in the NCR have a total allotment of P11.25 billion of which Quezon City has the highest budget of P2.48 billion while Pateros, the smallest LGU in NCR, has P52.41 million.

Muntinlupa advised the beneficiaries that they can use the verified GCash accounts of their family members as long as they are declared as official dependents in their previous registration.

The city government is eyeing to conduct a manual payout for beneficiaries who are unable to claim the “ayuda” through GCash.

Muntinlupa extended the deadline of registration of GCash account details until Aug. 18 to accommodate those who are experiencing delays in the verification of the accounts.

In addition, Muntinlupa’s Social Service Department has been distributing food packs to residents affected by ECQ such as persons with disabilities (PWDs), youth and senior citizens. The department has already distributed 3,508 food packs as of Aug. 16.
