Allan Paule not choosy with roles

Award-winning actor Allan Paule has admitted that it does not bother him if he has appeared in several gay-themed movies.

During a Zoom conference for the indie movie "Nang Dumating Si Joey" recently, Allan said that he's not choosy with the roles he plays.

I give different treatment to the roles I play)," said Allan.

Aside from "Nang Dumating Si Joey," Allan has done gay roles in the movies "Ang Lalaki sa Buhay ni Selya," "Masahista" and "Lockdown."

Allan said that he has no intimate or kissing scenes in his latest gay film.

"Ibang-iba kasi halos karamihan ng ginawa kong gay film, may kissing scene, may love scene, dito wala. Bakit wala, sabi ko kay Direk Arlyn!(The gay films I made are different from one another. Some have kissing scene, love scene. In this movie, I don't have steamy scenes)," the actor laughed.

Allan recalled that the most difficult movie he has done was "Selya" for personal reasons.

"We were shooting on Pagudpud and the communication was so difficult. Namatay 'yung anak ko. So I have to go home. Inayos ko lang 'yun and then I went back to the shoot. We have a deadline, so we need to finish the movie. In showbiz, the show must go on," he added.

Allan described "Nang Dumating Si Joey" as beautiful, far different from other gay movies he has done.

Asked about the sex scenes in the movie, Arlyn said: "There sex scenes. But I focused on the struggles of the characters."

Produced by Blank Pages Production, the movie is directed by Arlyn dela Cruz. Bong Diacosta, who is based in San Diego, California, is the executive producer of the film. Also starring are Mr. Pogi 2019 grand finalist Francis Grey and Rash Juzen.

Bong said that he has high regards on Arlyn as a director and a stage actress. "Sabi ko nga kay Arlyn, I finance, you make films.

"Nang Dumating si Joey" is available for streaming on KTX.PH until Sept. 30.
