Miss Universe Myanmar who sought refuge in US works as model in London

Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 Thuzar Wint Lwin has found a new home!

Thuzar who earlier escaped prosecution has flown to London where she will work as a fashion model.

In the comment section of Instagram, a follower asked Thuzar if she was in Myanmar.

Another follower commented, saying Thuzar is now in London, where she works as a model.

Thuzar has signed a one-year contract with a modelling agency in London.

On Facebook, Thuzar said that she will miss the US, where she stayed to seek refuge for a few months. She also thanked some agencies and individuals who helped her during her stay in the US.

Thuzar said that several groups and citizens in the US raised funds for her so that she could travel to London.

On social media, Thuzar also shared some snaps taken in some popular spots in the Big Smoke.

In May, Thuzar faced arrest after the National Costume Show at the 69th Miss Universe Competition where she dressed up in an authentic national costume and proudly showed the huge sign “Pray for Myanmar”.

In an introduction video sent to the Miss Universe Organization, Thuzar said: “Our people are dying and being shot by the military every day. I would like to urge everyone to speak about Myanmar. As Miss Universe Myanmar since the coup, I have been speaking out as much as I can.”

Thuzar won the best national costume and finished in the top 21 at the Miss Universe pageant.

She is now safe and won’t face prosecution after she found refuge abroad.
