Miss Philippines Dindi Pajares finished second for the Miss Elegance Special Award at the Miss Supranational 2021 pre-pageant event ongoing in Poland.

First place went to Miss Supranational Puerto Rico Kalra Guilfu while Miss Supranational Dominican Republic Eoanna Constanza, third place.

This developed as the rehearsals for Miss Supranational 2021 pageant are in full swing.

"In one week from today we will know who the 12th," the pageant's social media post said.

The 12th edition of Miss Supranational pageant will air on Sunday, Aug. 22 at 2am, live via satellite from Nowy Sącz, Poland on CNN Philippines.

This followed the announcement made last April 14 by Miss and Mister Supranational president Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski that the contest will be held on Aug. 21. Supranational 2021 was originally scheduled at the end of 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.

Pajares will compete against 56 other contestants.

A native from Orani Bataan, Pajares is an entrepreneur, flight attendant, military sergeant and a reserve commander for the Philippine Air Force.

Before joining Miss Supranational, Pajares competed in Miss Philippines Earth 2011; Binibining Pilipinas 2016 and 2017; and Miss World Philippines 2020, where she was crowned Miss Supranational Philippines 2021.

Dindi said that there is a humbling story behind the evening gown she wore during the pre-pageant competition.

Her evening gown was designed by Angeiline Texon @bespokeangeiline, a senior high school designer from Bataan.

On Instagram, Dindi wrote:

"This gown has a very humbling story. Despite constraints in resources, Angeiline Texon @bespokeangeiline, a senior high school designer from Bataan, province of the Philippines, was able to make this work of art come to life.

"This was made only for two (2) days, shortly before I left for Poland, using a sewing machine donated by the government ( 4P's -Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) to the poor constituents. It warms my heart that such simple pieces achieve tremendous feat and are recognized internationally (bagging the first-runner-up for Miss Elegance of Miss Supranational 2021).

"With this is my OVERFLOWING GRATITUDE to ALL THE PEOPLE BEHIND every step of my way, then and beyond. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart."
