Daniel Padilla has revealed that he and girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo are already preparing for their future.
This he shared during a "Purple Chair Interview" with Boy Abunda, where Daniel was asked if he and Kathryn excite each other even after nine years of being together.
"Simple lang. We just travel, travel na kaming dalawa lang," said he. "Pagnag-ta-travel kami before, iba yung 'Oh my God kaya na nating dalawa!' Growth pa rin nung relationship."
"Now tinuturuan namin ang isa't-isa dahil malapit na eh. Ilang taon na rin naman na kami di ba. Sa future pagdating ng panahon siyempre magsasama na talaga kami. Hinahanda na rin namin yung mga sarili namin," the Kapamilya star added.
Daniel, 26, said that their respective families are guiding and nurturing them for their marriage anytime soon.
"Healthy yun," he said about it.
As to how he and Kathryn keep the fire burning, Daniel said: "I'm no expert naman, I just think, wala eh, she's the love of my life!"
Daniel also thinks it's significant that they give each other time for themselves, saying he just arrived from a vacation in Boracay with friends.
"Wag nating sakalin ang isa't-isa di ba. Lalo na sa industriya natin, like ako, di ba ako hindi ko maiiwasan in the future magkakaroon na naman siya ng ibang partner, ako magkakaroon ako. Yun yung mga sitwasyon na mahirap din sa isang relasyon dahil ako as a person siyempre, kung may choice ako papayag ba ako na may partner? Hindi noh! Siyempre di ba, ako lang ang pwedeng humawak sa kamay ng nobya ko."
Asked who gets jealous easily, Daniel said both of them are protective.
"Seloso ako pero hindi ako nagseselos kay Kathryn kasi alam ko naman walang dating sa kanya yung mga lalaki. Pag ako nagselos, dun ako badtrip kung sino lumalapit sa kanya. Yun yung kakausapin ko, hindi yung: 'Bal, layuan mo yang ano na yan,' hindi ako ganun. I'll talk to the guy. 'Hey man, that's too much.'"
Asked if the age of 26 is too young for marriage, Daniel said: "Yes, because I'm still stupid."
Until now, they still fight over small things and have misunderstandings, they said.
But compare to the first year of their relationship, they are now both mature in handling disagreements.
Daniel credited Kathryn for helping him become more responsible, particularly when it comes to handling his hard-earned money and future planning.
Tito Boy asked Daniel if he's the type who would forgive or won't forget if betrayed in a relationship.
"I will not move on. Hindi ako makaka move on sa sarili ko ha, not for us. Kung sakaling may ganon sa isang relasyon ko, pag ako ay trinaydor at may ginawang mali kaya kong patawarin yung tao na yun kasi para sakin din yun eh. Pag hindi mo ginawa yun, wala. You'd be lost," he said.
Daniel revealed that it happened to him before.
"At si Kathryn pinatawad ako, di ba. Nagkamali ako before, di ba. I was a kid di ba, I was stupid, di ba. And still tinanggap niya ako. At tinanggap niya ako nang buo."
So what's the advantage of a long, pre-marriage relationship?
"Sa work kami magkasama, after work kami pa rin magkasama. Yung beautiful dito is, I'm always excited to see Kathryn... Kasi ano yan eh, eto ang tawag ko, I'm a ship, and she's my anchor talaga," he declared. "Siya yun - kaya ako steady kasi andiyan yung Kathryn para sa akin."
"Ganon yung relationship namin 'To Boy, kailangan ko yung tao na yun... mahal ko siya at kailangan ko siya."
