Active COVID-19 cases in PH soar to over 102K

The Department of Health (DOH) reported more than 14,000 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for two straight days already.

Based on the latest case bulletin, there were 14,749 more cases of COVID-19 detected nationwide, pushing the number of active cases to 102,748.

The country’s total number of confirmed cases stood at 1,741,616.

Of the active cases, 95.9 percent were mild, 1.1 percent were asymptomatic, 0.8 percent were critical, 1.3 percent were severe, 0.93 percent have moderate symptoms.

The death toll is now at 30,340 after 270 more patients died of COVID-19. The country's case fatality rate remains at 1.74 percent.

Meanwhile, the recovery count also climbed to 1,608,528, which is 92.4 percent of the overall caseload with 10,720 new survivors.

The DOH advised the public once again to strictly follow the minimum public health standards at all times---- and encouraged eligible individuals to get vaccinated to protect themselves against COVID-19.
