A seriously tough pickup truck
Auto Nation Group, official distributor of Ram trucks in the Philippines, has just brought in the Ram 1500 Rebel Crew Cab, their newest, toughest, full sized, pickup truck.
Exterior
The Rebel has a distinct two-tone paint scheme, MOPAR-designed matte black graphics on the sides of the bed and Rebel logos. It’s also got the matte black treatment on the tubular side steps, front and rear steel bumpers, and black dual exhaust tips. Under the front bumper is a brushed aluminum bash plate with matte black tow hooks on both sides.
It’s equipped with LED headlamps, fog lamps and tail lamps. It rolls on 275/70 R18 all-terrain tiresmounted on 18 X 8-inch painted mid-gloss black wheels matched to off-road fenders. Underneath, the Rebel rides on front and rear Bilstein Performance tuned shocks and it’s also equipped with a locking rear axle.
Around back, there’s the class-exclusive cargo management system called the Rambox located on both outer sides of the cargo bed. This makes it an easily accessible, watertight, versatile, lockable, flush mounted storage solution that can store both cargo items that you don’t want moving around in the bed or turned into an icebox or drink cooler, and the locking tailgate is dampened.
Powerplant
The Rebel is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 HEMI MDS VVT engine which puts out 395-HP at 5,600 rpm with 555-NM of torque at 3,950 rpm, and this is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with a rotary select knob.
Interior
The driver and passenger get eight-way power adjustable bucket seats with four-way lumbar adjust and four-way front headrests, the driver gets a seven-inch TFT colored cluster display and in the center of the dashboard, one touch up and down front power windows, there’s the 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen display with a nine-speaker (w/ subwoofer) infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has an aux jack and two full function-aux USB’s. Plus the cabin has 2 more USB’s for charging.
The steering wheel has the controls for audio cruise control, dual zone air conditioning, LED footwell lights, and power adjustable pedals. The rear seats are 60/40 fold forward with storage compartments under the seats and floor storage bins in the second row.
Safety and convenience
Standard safety features are: advanced multistage front airbags, advanced Brake Assist, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Electronic Stability Control, Full Speed Forward Collision Warning, Ready Alert Braking, supplemental side airbags, Trailer Brake Control, and Trailer Sway Damping.
Convenience features are: Electric Park Brake, electric power steering, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Park Sense Front/Rear, Park Assist w/Stop, ParkView Rear Backup Camera, Power Folding Mirrors, Push Button Start, Remote Proximity Keyless Entry, Remote Start System, Speed Sensitive Door locks and a Tire Pressure Monitoring Display.
