More than 13,000 families in Manila receive ‘ayuda’ on 1st day of distribution


More than 13,000 families in the city of Manila have already received their cash assistance from the national government.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said through the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW), a total of 13,903 families have already received their P4,000 cash assistance as of 5:00 p.m., Wednesday (August 11).

The city government, through the MDSW, simultaneously distributed the cash assistance to Districts 1 to 6, Baseco, and informal workers.

According to Domagoso, the distribution of cash assistance is still ongoing.

The city government received the cash aid worth P1,488,630,000 from the national government on Friday (August 6) intended for the families affected by the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The cash assistance will be given to the beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program under the Bayanihan Act 1 and additional beneficiaries under the Bayanihan Act 2.

Domagoso also thanked MDSW, social welfare staff, barangay officials, and all those who are assisting in the cash aid distribution.

"Maraming maraming salamat (Thank you very much) Director Re Fugoso at Manila Department of Social Welfare, 'yung mga staff ng city hall under social welfare," he said.
