More COVID-19 wards in Metro Manila hospitals hit full capacity


Two more hospitals in Metro Manila said their coronavirus (COVID-19) wards have hit full capacity.

Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City on Tuesday night, Aug. 10, announced that it has reached full bed capacity for COVID-19 cases in emergency room, intensive care unit (ICU), and wards.

Meanwhile, the hospital remains open serving non-COVID-19 patients.

St. Clare's Medical Center in Makati likewise announced that it has reached full capacity for COVID-19 patients and suspects.

"We regret to inform everyone that we will not be accepting COVID-19 cases and we humbly ask that you consider bringing critically ill COVID suspects to alternative hospitals," it said in a Facebook post.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported that 13 hospitals in Metro Manila have already reached 100 percent utilization of their bed capacity dedicated for COVID-19 patients.
