The Taguig City government will start the distribution of “ayuda” or financial assistance from the national government Wednesday.
Based on a circular by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Taguig has been given a fund of P723,971,000 for distribution to individuals and families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) imposed in the National Capital Region from Aug. 6 to 20.

Several barangays in Taguig have posted the names of beneficiaries on their official Facebook pages.
Barangay Fort Bonifacio, for instance, announced that due to health protocols, only the first 1,000 beneficiaries on its list will be given the financial assistance on Aug. 11 at Gat Andres Bonifacio Elementary School.
The beneficiaries are advised to bring their quarantine pass, vaccination registration QR code, two photocopies of government-issued or valid IDs that will show their Taguig address such as barangay ID, passport, driver’s license, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, police clearance certificate, postal ID, voter’s ID, SSS card, senior citizens’ card, and Philhealth card.
They are also advised to wear face masks and face shields, maintain social distancing, and bring their own ballpen.
Meanwhile, the city government will give P250,000 to each barangay as COVID-19 aid that can be used to buy additional food packs for residents. This is on top of the regular aid given by the city government to all barangays.
The barangay assistance is separate from the nearly 300,000 relief goods being distributed by the city to families. As of Aug. 8, about 210,000 families have received the food packs.
"We have allotted for all Taguig families, regardless of economic standing, to receive food packs from the local government,” said Mayor Lino Cayetano.
