Over 30,000 quarantine violators apprehended in Cavite in one week


More than 30,000 people were apprehended for violations of various quarantine protocols in Cavite in just one week.

In a report from DZBB, Cavite Provincial Director Police Col. Marlon Santos said a total of 33,686 quarantine violators were apprehended based on the latest record from August 2 to 8.

Of which, 4,824 were for not wearing face masks, 5,055 for improper wearing of face masks, 13,678 for not wearing face shields, and 6,238 for improper wearing of face shields.

Meanwhile, 3,461 individuals were accosted for violating curfew hours, 506 for social distancing, and 24 for mass gathering.

The Cavite Police assured that it will continue to implement minimum health standards and protocol in the province for the safety of residents against the COVID-19.

Cavite is under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until August 15.
