"I hope others will follow and get themselves vaccinated," Gomez urged.

Meanwhile, in anticipation of a possible scenario of increased infections due to the COVID-19 Delta variant, Gomez bared they have prepared a mass burial site for COVID deaths in their new cemetery.
The New Ormoc Cemetery technical working group (TWG) has identified a 5,000-square meter area at the new public cemetery site as burial grounds for COVID-19 fatalities.
"They will be used for COVID deaths except those who have their own cemetery lots," he added.Ormoc City has been put on Alert 4 status by the Department of Health (DOH).This means that its case count is high or increasing.
There is also a high utilization of health care facilities regardless of the presence of the Delta variant.
