The Medical City (TMC) in Pasig City announced on Monday, August 9, that its COVID-19 floors, Emergency Room (ER), and Intensive Care Units (ICU) have already reached full capacity amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
“We regret to announce that as of March 22, 2021, our COVID-19 ER, floors, ICU units have reached full capacity status,” the TMC said in a statement on its Facebook page.
"We are closely monitoring with the Pasig LGU being an integral part of the ONE HOSPITAL Command. We appeal for your understanding and recommend that you use this network in seeking urgent care for critically-ill COVID-19 patients, or consider other institutions," it added.
The hospital administration reminded the public to follow the minimum public safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus such as wearing of masks, proper hand hygiene, observing physical distancing, avoiding crowded and poorly ventilated areas, and to get vaccinated.
The city government said that as of August 8, there are 822 active COVID-19 cases, 990 deaths, and 36,245 recoveries.
