Pia Wurtzbach is the ultimate bombshell in latest shoot with BJ Pascual

A match made in fashion heaven

Apart from strengthening her platform for her AIDS and HIV advocacy, Pia Wurtzbach has been vocal about her dream of being a Bond Girl after winning the Miss Universe crown in 2016. An iconic depiction of a leading lady in film, a Bond Girl role is among the coveted portrayals in Hollywood, one that could cement an actress' career in its Walk of Fame. Sexy and stylish with a fine man as an arm candy, this role is definitely the one that a million ladies would love to do. While we have yet to see Pia acting it out on the big screen with Agent 007, she is giving us a glimpse of what she would look like if ever she's cast for the role.

In the anniversary episode of "Musing," Filipino fashion photographer BJ Pascual turns Pia into a bombshell, or better yet, a Bond Girl. BJ worked with the best creatives of the local fashion and beauty scene in making the shoot possible. Bringing his visual expertise to the shoot is Preview Magazine's former creative director Vince Uy. Stylist Pam Quinones whips up the best of fashions. While hairstylist Renz Pangilinan and make-up artist Mickey See work together in sealing everything with topnotch beauty looks.

Sultry, bold, and daring—those are the best words to describe BJ's latest work, or as Pia describes it, "paandar shoot." The themes for the shoot pick up fashion moments from past eras. One of the layouts focused on the pin-up girl aesthetic of the 1950s mixed with bondage vibe. While the others pay homage to a Richard Avedon shoot with a couple of slinky cold-blooded co-stars, the snakes.

"I've always gravitated toward era-inspired editorials so pin-up and '50s fetish was automatically in my moodboard when I was dreaming up this shoot with queen P," Vince says. "Vargas girl meets Bettie Page with the hint of Elvira and you get the ultimate enchantress!"

"If find that most of my work is never referential. And often it's bits and pieces of ideas, a hodgepodge of nuances, a melange of different decades that come together to birth a 'new' thing," Pam explains. "But really what makes it modern in my eyes, at least, is an attitude, strong point of view (reflective of the now). An homage, still, at core. But viewed with a 2021 lens."

A true professional during the shoot is Pia. Watching the "Musing" episode is evident that there are moments when she is not comfortable with her reptilian co-stars. But as the empowered woman of the universe that she is, she still looks unbothered and fierce, posing in Justine Arcega-Bumanlag-designed sets.
