PH eyes to vaccinate 1M individuals daily --- Dizon

National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon said Monday, Aug. 9, the national government is eyeing to vaccinate one million individuals daily as Delta threat looms.

"That's our target, it's more than the 700,000. Last week, we administered 710,000 COVID-19 shots, our new daily high and I urge everyone to cooperate and help us reach this target," Dizon said in a virtual briefing.

"This is really a race against variants, but again our biggest challenge is still supply. This is a challenge not only in the Philippines but in the whole world. Especially the countries that do not manufacture their own vaccines," he noted.

As of Aug. 8, 13 million individuals have so far received their first dose of the vaccine, while 11.3 million have been fully vaccinated.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said that the country is expecting at least 22.7 million vaccine jabs this August.
