Pateros to distribute ‘ayuda’ starting Wednesday

According to Local Budget Circular No. 138 issued by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Aug. 6, Pateros, the smallest local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila in terms of population, has been allotted P52.419 million for the financial assistance.

The national government set aside P10.89 billion as financial assistance fund for the 16 cities and one municipality in the National Capital Region (NCR), which have been placed under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from Aug. 6 to 20.

Ponce said the amount to be given is P1,000 for every person or a maximum of P4,000 per family. The beneficiaries will be those who received the “ayuda” last year under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

“As a general rule, if you received the first , you will also receive ‘ayuda’ for the second time,” he said. He said the names of the beneficiaries per barangay will be posted.

An annual audit report by the Commission on Audit (COA) on Pateros for the year 2020 noted that “the Municipality’s 6,707 affected families during the pandemic were recipients of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the transferred funds from the national government in the amount of P53.656 million.”

“There was substantial compliance with the requirements on the grant of financial support to the identified low income families pursuant to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Memorandum Circular (MC) Nos. 04 and 09, series of 2020, with only few instances of incomplete documentation,” COA noted.
